History of Kratom in the UK
In 2001 we imported kratom into the UK. Being the first company to offer kratom commercially. Kratom has been available in the UK ever since.
We had no idea at that time Mitragyna speciosa would gain a worldwide following. It has been widely reported to help manage pain and combat anxiety, especially during the COVID pandemic
We’re in the middle of a global opiate addiction crisis and many customers find that they can kick their opiate addiction without the awful side effects. Users have inundated us with their positive experiences since day one. We have testimonials that report, kratom has given hope where everything else had failed.
Kratom is a tremendous source of alkaloids, including: 7-hydoxymitragine, mitraphylline and mitragynine. These alkaloids stimulate opioid receptors in the brain, providing comfortable, soothing and relaxing sensations.
Kratom is an energy booster, high in antioxidants and a healthy alternative to caffeine. We provide our customers with piece of mind, knowing they are receiving only the very best selections of kratom powder and leaves.
We continue in our life long quest to bring you new and exciting 100% organic products and strains from virgin jungle regions.

When using kratom most people report a sense of calm and positive energy. How is our wellbeing perceived by those around us? Our family, friends or even in the working environment? Does mood affect your children? How does your wellbeing impact on their lives and their futures?
Suffering with severe anxiety or living with excruciating pain is unproductive, as is being hopelessly addicted to traditional NHS medications.
Kratom Effects
Reference studies show that kratom is unique. In small doses the effects tend to be energetic and larger doses more relaxing. Some of the most popular uses are pain management, anxiety, depression and addiction to pain killers or other opiates.
These include several types of pain, including muscle aches, joint pain and headaches. Stress and fatigue are also relieved by kratom. Dry, painful coughs can be alleviated, as well as anxiety.
My first experience with the effects of kratom came from a young man who suffered from chronic fibromyalgia. I received a very excited call from Dave who told me what he had experienced.
A friend bought some kratom and explained it’s from the coffee family and was supposed to pick you up. To his surprise it did pick him up but he went on to say.
While using kratom he found that 90% of his symptoms had vanished and for the first time in years he felt normal.
He explained it was raining that day, but he could not wait to go outside, without fear. Kratom is not a miracle cure, however, Dave reiterated that kratom was his best option.
After years of being at the mercy of his doctor he said ‘there may be some hope at last’.
Is Kratom Legal
The UK Psychoactive Substances Act came into effect on the 26th May 2016. What a lot of people do not know is that kratom is still 100% legal in the UK. The Psychoactive Substances Act is a very broad legislation to cover many substances.
Its primary aim was to stop the distribution of synthetic legal highs. Kratom’s legal status never changed and is not affected by the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. You can legally own kratom in the UK without fear of prosecution as long as it is for personal use.
Botanists and scientists test natural plant-based alkaloids for study, sometimes these are discovered by chance. There are many undiscovered naturally occurring alkaloids in unknown flora from around the world. Why pick on kratom with proven health benefits? Because, it was in the middle of a synthetic legal highs crisis?
We need to nurture all botanicals and learn from them. We have already learnt a lot about the effects of kratom and its diversity as a natural plant medicine.
Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is not a synthetic drug. Kratom leaf comes from a tree that organically grows in the jungles across all of South East Asia. Farm labourers originally used it to help them get through a hard, long day’s work, farming the fields.
Kratom is a member of the Rubiaceae (coffee) family and is often used the same way. Drinking it in the mornings as a pick-me-up instead of coffee is a great way to wean yourself off caffeine.
At a psychoactive level the only difference between kratom and coffee is the naturally occurring alkaloids. The main active alkaloid in kratom is Mitragynine and Caffeine is the substance naturally occurring in coffee.
Is Kratom Safe? Proceed with Awareness!
Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a natural botanical that has gained significant attention for its potential benefits—but it’s essential to approach its use with caution and informed judgment.
A scientific study on the acute oral toxicity of kratom was conducted using a purified ethanol (EtOH) extract in rats. Five rats were administered a high limit dose of 3,000 mg/kg orally and observed over a 5-day period. Remarkably, none of the animals died or showed obvious signs of toxicity. This suggests that the LD50 (lethal dose for 50% of subjects) of kratom extract is higher than 3,000 mg/kg in rats.
To put this into perspective: high-quality kratom powder typically contains 1–2 mg of mitragynine per gram. This means that for an 80 kg person, it would theoretically take over 96 kg of kratom powder to match the rat study’s dose. However, translating results from animal studies to humans is never straightforward or foolproof. Human physiology, metabolism, and long-term effects differ greatly from those of lab animals.
While this data may suggest a low risk of acute toxicity, this does not mean kratom is entirely without risk. Individual reactions vary widely. Factors like dosage, frequency, strain type, overall health, and potential drug interactions all influence safety outcomes. Overuse, combining kratom with other substances, or using adulterated products can result in harmful consequences.
From personal experience and numerous anecdotal reports, kratom appears to offer meaningful support for some individuals when used responsibly. However, it’s crucial to state clearly: I am not a medical professional. I’m an informed advocate who has seen positive results firsthand—but this should not substitute for expert medical advice.
Responsible Use and Community Sharing
If kratom has positively impacted your life, ask yourself: do the benefits outweigh the potential risks? We encourage users to document their journeys, not only for their own awareness but to contribute to a broader understanding of this plant.

A Final Note on Caution
Although kratom is a 100% natural plant, “natural” does not always mean “harmless.” As with many botanicals, more research is needed. Kratom is one of many understudied medicinal plants that deserve thoughtful exploration. Until more conclusive scientific data is available, use it with respect, moderation, and awareness of your body’s signals.
Let’s advocate for freedom of choice through education—not assumption. By documenting and sharing your experiences, you can empower others to make informed, cautious decisions.
