How to Prepare Kratom Crushed Leaf Tea (Double Extraction Method)

Double extraction involves boiling kratom leaves twice to ensure maximum alkaloid extraction. This method is favored by many for its efficiency and robust flavor.

Ingredients and Tools:

• Kratom crushed leaves: 1–2 teaspoons per serving (adjust for desired strength)
• Water: 2 cups (16 oz) for each boil (4 cups total)
• Strainer: Fine mesh or cheesecloth
• Small saucepan
• Optional flavor enhancers: Lemon juice, honey, or sweeteners

Instructions:

1. Measure the Kratom
   Use 1–2 teaspoons of crushed kratom leaves per serving. Start with a lower amount if you’re new to kratom.
2. Boil the First Batch
   • Pour 2 cups of water into a saucepan and bring it to a boil.
   • Add the kratom leaves and reduce the heat to a simmer.
   • Let it simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
   • Strain the liquid into a separate container, pressing the leaves to extract as much liquid as possible.
3. Boil the Second Batch
   • Return the used leaves to the saucepan with 2 fresh cups of water.
   • Repeat the boiling and simmering process for another 15–20 minutes.
4. Combine the Extractions
   • Strain the second batch into the container holding the first batch.
   • Discard the used kratom leaves.
5. Enhance and Serve
   • Add lemon juice, honey, or other sweeteners to taste.
   • Serve warm or chill the tea for later consumption.
